Musical Bridges Around the World will present a rich mix of holiday music in the next Russell Hill Rogers Musical Evenings at San Fernando Cathedral. The concert program will combine singer/songwriter/violinist Lily Henley’s original songs with traditional French, Gaelic and English Christmas carols including “The Wexford Carol,” “O Holy Night,” the Hebrew “Maoz Tsur/Rock of Ages,” and the Ladino and Turkish “Si Veriyash a la Rana/Do You See the Frog.” Henley is a Ladino (Judeo-Spanish language) scholar who has released a new album of Sephardic Jewish ballads set to new melodies. She will be joined Jordan Tice on bouzouki and guitar, and Ethan Jodziewicz on bass in a performance that weaves together her Sephardi heritage with deep roots in American and Celtic traditions.
