DreamWeek at the Briscoe
Screening of DOROTHEA LANGE: GRAB A HUNK OF LIGHTNING followed by Q&A with Lange’s granddaughter and narrator and director of the film Dyanna Taylor
DreamWeek is about inclusivity and providing programs that celebrate positive contributions to our culture and society. The theme for 2024 is the Compassion Drive. Dorothea Lange through her documentation shared untold stories of the West creating compassion for those in the Great Depression, Japanese Internment camps and more. We’re also going to have Dorothea’s granddaughter who narrates and directs the film come and do a Q&A after the film creating another connection to Dream Week’s goals of exchanging ideas and inspiring discussion! There’s a great quote from the movie website: The issues that moved Lange face American still, and her legacy remains a call to action, asking us to always examine the unaltered truths around us. Join us as we explore more untold stories of the American West with the cost of museum admission.
