The Gunter Hotel is excited to share an exciting upcoming event honoring one of music’s most influential figures. On Friday, May 8, the hotel will debut its inaugural Robert Johnson Birthday Celebration, commemorating what would have been the legendary blues musician’s 115th birthday.
This first-of-its-kind event will feature a full day of immersive programming celebrating Robert Johnson’s lasting impact on blues and American music. Guests are invited to enjoy a variety of experiences throughout the day, including:
4 - 5 PM: Panel discussion exploring Robert Johnson’s legacy and influence, moderated by KRTU’s Bria Woods in the Studio Lounge (free)
5 - 6 PM: Vinyl listening, live poetry and birthday cake cutting in the hotel lobby and Keystone Club (free)
7:30 - 10:30 PM: Immersive evening concert featuring Sue Foley, The Peterson Brothers, and Nicky Diamonds in the hotel’s Crystal Ballroom (ticketed event)
