CENTRO SAN ANTONIO UNVEILS 2026 FIESTA MEDAL CELEBRATING THE NEXT GENERATION OF DOWNTOWN LEADERS

SAN ANTONIO, TX - The future of downtown is in the palm of our hands, and it’s built by the people who shape it. That is the message behind Centro San Antonio’s 2026 Fiesta Medal, a symbol of community and the generations leading San Antonio forward.

As downtown continues to evolve, Centro San Antonio is placing a spotlight on the role of emerging leaders, creatives, and students as catalysts for long-term growth. This year’s medal reflects a shared belief: the future of the urban core begins with those who will carry it forward.

The 2026 Fiesta Medal was created through a collaborative partnership between Centro San Antonio and Amegy Bank, alongside UT San Antonio’s School of Art. Through a month-long open call, student artists were invited to submit resumes and portfolios, culminating in the selection of Victoria Caughman, a 2025 graduate of UT San Antonio whose design brings this year’s vision to life.

“I really enjoyed exploring the different ways I could represent the growth and culture within San Antonio,” said Caughman. “The meaning behind the design, nurturing the progress of the next generation that will keep downtown thriving, feels really impactful, and more noticeable now than ever before.”

At the heart of the design are hands lifting and supporting the downtown skyline, an intentional representation of a community actively building its future together. The imagery reinforces a central message: downtown’s story is not defined by buildings alone, but by the people who invest in its growth.

Partnering with UT San Antonio reflects a shared commitment to the city’s future, as the university continues to expand its presence and investment in the urban core, aligning closely with Centro’s mission to create a more vibrant and connected downtown.

“Centro is constantly seeking ways to partner with those who are shaping the future of downtown,” said Trish DeBerry, President and CEO of Centro San Antonio. “This Fiesta Medal represents more than a tradition; it’s a reminder that our community grows stronger when we invest in our next generation. We are proud to collaborate with UT San Antonio and Amegy Bank to create meaningful opportunities for students and young professionals in our center city.”

Proceeds of the 2026 medal directly support Centro San Antonio’s ongoing efforts to enhance and activate downtown for residents, businesses, and visitors alike. For more information on Centro San Antonio and its initiatives, please visit centrosa.org.
