This November, The Gunter Hotel will proudly commemorate the 90th Anniversary of Robert Johnson's historic recordings, a landmark moment in American music history that took place right here within our walls.
From November 12-14, we invite you to join us for a special weekend celebrating Robert Johnson's enduring legacy through live music, storytelling, educational experiences, and performances from talented artists whose work continues to be inspired by the blues tradition he helped shape.
Throughout the weekend, guests will enjoy a variety of events, including:
• Studio tours highlighting the historic recording location where Robert Johnson recorded in 1936
• A special panel discussion featuring Steven Johnson, grandson of Robert Johnson
• Live performances by Nicky Diamonds, Tomar & The FCs, Jordan Matthew Young, Robert Randolph, Ally Venable, and other celebrated artists
• Additional live music and activations throughout Bar 414 and the hotel
As a property deeply connected to music history, this anniversary is especially meaningful to our team, and we would be honored to have you celebrate with us.
