Lunchbox Music Series: Katchie Cartwright & Marco Antonio Santos
Break out of the office and join us in the park for free lunchtime concerts featuring talented local musicians. The concert series will be every Wednesday from 11:30-2:30 PM. Bring your lunchbox from home, grab a bite at Pinkerton’s Barbecue, or order take-out from your favorite lunch spot! A rotating selection of food trucks will also be available, thanks to the Downtown Food Truck program. Snag a spot on the lawn and enjoy your lunch break—you’ve earned it.
11:30-2:30 on Wednesdays, October 5-December 14 (excluding November 23)
About the musicians:
Marco Antonio Santos:

Rare are individuals with doctorates in ethnomusicology. Rarer still are the Ph.D.s who put ethnomusicological theory into practice. Katchie Cartwright is of that uncommon breed. The native New Yorker and flutist, whose previous projects included musical tributes to composer/philosopher John Cage and bohemian poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti, relocated to San Antonio in 2006. There, in addition to academic duties at Northwest Vista College, she launched a radio show, Planet Jazz, devoted to what she calls the “global songbook.” She now hosts Katchie Caminhos do Jazz, Saturdays on @KRTU 91.7 FM.
